About the role

The Payroll Officer will be a key part of a small finance team and who will work closely with the Finance Manager, Finance Officer and HR to ensure that payroll and expenses are accurate and compliant.

As Payroll Officer you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of the monthly payroll and expenses.

This role is ideal for someone who is looking to develop into a Payroll Manager position in the next 12-18 months, we are looking to support someone who will grow with us into that position.

All of the finance team work remotely, and so you will be able to organise yourself well independently, and have excellent communication skills both over email and video calling or the telephone.

About you

You should have considerable experience of processing payrolls of over 100 employees. You should also have:

  • A strong understanding of relevant UK legislation around SSP, SMP, SPP, DEA, deductions and statutory redundancy.
  • Experience of administering a pension scheme.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, clearly able to explain payroll terminology to non-payroll professionals.
  • Able to work independently from home.
