C for Coaching

Coaching is at the heart of our treatment approach and is delivered by professionals and volunteers in our supported houses and through our treatment partnerships. Coaches offer support, advocacy and structured interventions to support sustained behavioural change.

Our specialist coaches include:

  • Recovery coaches who promote wellbeing and active citizenship and develop recovery communities and mutual aid groups.
  • Family coaches who support the family and friends of those affected by addiction and trauma.
  • Community and wellbeing coaches who encourage healthy lifestyles and involvement in supportive community activities and groups.
  • Behaviour (Integrated Offender Management) coaches who support prison leavers to create long-term positive changes.

“I cannot speak more highly of my family coach and the rest of the team; they have been brilliant. They literally save lives. They do what they say they are going to do. They are reliable and knowledgeable and are a massive source of strength in a storm.”

Coaching employment pathways

Coaching can be a pathway into paid employment or social entrepreneurship in the health and social care sector for people in recovery.

We provide training for ‘experts by experience’ who wish to use their own personal experiences and expertise to support behavioural change in others. Investing in experts by experience has significantly increased our ability to engage quickly and effectively with people in our services and support them to make lasting changes to their lives.

“If you are passionate about making a difference, then I truly recommend Emerging Futures recovery coach training.”
