Interested in becoming a coach? We’ve just launched a new and updated CPD accredited training programme, ‘Coaching Essentials’. Keep reading to find out who the coaching programme is for, what it includes and how to apply.

Who are our coaches?

Many of our coaches are members of the community who want to give something back. They often have their own lived experience of addiction, homelessness or the criminal justice system, and volunteer their time to help others achieve recovery.

Our coaches facilitate online and face to face support groups and play vital roles in areas such as family support and recovery activities, often being the first point of contact for individuals in need. These efforts not only enhance service delivery but also build a sense of community and belonging for everyone involved.

What is Coaching Essentials?

The new Coaching Essentials training is now recognised and trusted as a high-quality training course, accredited by CPD Standards Office, who ensure the training meets requirements for quality, relevance and impact.

The five-day course is designed to empower individuals, to support personal and professional growth and lead to meaningful change.

The Provider of Training Excellence qualification means that a rigorous third-party verification of our practice has been undertaken and ensures that Emerging Futures are striving for excellence within training delivery.

Who is the Coaching Essentials training course for?

The coaching is designed to cater to a diverse group of people. It can support people early in recovery and may also appeal to students new to the health and social care sector, offering foundational skills that boost CVs and prepare them for roles within and beyond Emerging Futures.

We’re also keen to welcome community-minded individuals who simply want to give back or develop personal skills.

Since its beginning in 2014, Emerging Futures has championed peer-to-peer support and the transformative power of lived experience. This coaching scheme builds on that ethos, creating opportunities for individuals to turn their experiences into tools for community support and personal growth.
