Jo Simcox

Trustee for Emerging Futures

Jo has spent more than 20 years working with organisations to make services better for the people who use them. Her career has taken her across housing, charities, utilities and manufacturing, with a particular passion for customer experience, listening to people, improving services and turning feedback into meaningful change.

As Director of Simcox CX Ltd, Jo works with boards and leadership teams on customer experience, service improvement, governance and organisational change. She enjoys getting underneath how things really work, asking the questions that sometimes need asking and working with people to find practical solutions that make a difference.

Jo believes that good services start with listening. People should feel heard, respected and treated as individuals, not as a process, a problem or a label. She brings that same philosophy to governance, believing that good governance should help organisations make better decisions and ultimately deliver better outcomes for the people they exist to support.

This is one of the things that particularly attracted Jo to Emerging Futures. She strongly believes in seeing the person rather than their circumstances, challenging stigma and recognising people’s strengths and potential.

Jo holds an MBA from Keele University, is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing and also serves as a Non-Executive Director at Squared Housing.

Outside of work, Jo can usually be found on a long dog walk, discovering somewhere good to eat or drink, or attempting to slow herself down through learning calligraphy.
