Emmanuel Thomas joins us as Non Executive Director for Emerging Futures

Emmanuel is a dedicated Housing Officer for a local authority in Worcestershire, where he employs a Psychological Informed Environment approach to support residents prevent and alleviate homelessness. His multifaceted experience in housing includes frontline outreach services for rough sleepers, support for residents in temporary accommodation, and strategic project management aimed at homelessness prevention.

Before his current role, Emmanuel worked in various capacities within Revenues & Benefits and Customer Service, gaining a well-rounded understanding of public service.

Emmanuel’s personal journey through the care system, coupled with experiences of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), homelessness, mental health challenges, and addiction, fuels his deep commitment to social justice. This passion drives him to advocate for those in vulnerable situations and to create meaningful change in his community.

In addition to his professional work, Emmanuel has served as a school governor and parish councillor, and he actively represents his colleagues as a workplace representative for his Trade Union.

He holds a Foundation Degree in Service Sector Management from the University of Worcester and is currently advancing his knowledge through further studies with the Chartered Institute of Housing.
