Andy is a Registered Psychiatric Nurse and completed his training in 1986 at Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry. He went on to work within the NHS for 30 years. During that time he has managed numerous mental health and substance misuse services, including large psychiatric units, community mental health teams and learning disability services.
Andy retired from the NHS and went on to lecture in health and social care at Gloucestershire College where he completed his PGCE. He then became a CQC registered manager in charge of a large nursing home and later in charge of 2 learning disability homes that were both rated as outstanding! Andy also worked as a commissioner of mental health services for a number of years.
Andy has a passion for teaching and developing staff in addition to ensuring that our service users and residents are at the heart of everything we do.
Andy started working for Emerging Futures in April 2020 and says that it is the best organisation he has ever worked for. Although he is planning to retire again in the near future!
